    Hello everybody,
first of all – congratulations to your website, it’s absolutely brilliant!!
I’m looking for CDs with celtic/Irish tunes played in clawhammer style. I don’t get this here in Germany. Any idea of names etc?
    Thanks in advance!

    Greetings, Michael!

If your goal to find some CDs with celtic music, try starting with Ken Perlman’s materials. You might want to check out his website for some CD suggestions: One he has is The Fiddle Music of Prince Edward Island: Celtic & Acadian Tunes in Living Tradition. I have not heard it myself, but I have other CDs of his that I really like. You can find his listing at this address: http://www.kenperlman.com/pricelst.htm

Mike Iverson has also done a number of Celtic pieces and even has the tablature for them on his website, free for download. Mike’s site is at: http://www.bluesageband.com/Tabs.html. Download and listen to his mp3 files. They are very good.

Very nice site! Please consider posting MP3 or ABC files with the tablature. This really helps for people who learn by ear, though the ABC is just a rough approximation – you have to listen to some good players do the tune and then find your own style within the tradition.

Thanks and keep up the good work.

How can we hear what these tunes should sound like?

      Thanks for the question, Debbie!

I used to have midi files attached with the pdf, but apparently they have been stripped out of what I originally uploaded. When I get a chance, I’ll add them back in as long as the system still let’s me do so.
